Corporal and Spiritual works of Mercy;Psalms

SPIRITUAL WORKS OF MERCY
have long been a part of the Christian tradition, appearing in the works of the theologians and spiritual writers throughout History.  Just as Jesus attended to the spiritual well-being of those he ministered to these works of Mercy guide us to "help our neighbor in their Spiritual needs"

1) Counseling the Doubtful

2) Instruct the Ignorant ( invite others to Church )

3) Admonishing the Sinner (Do not judge, but be supportive in helping others to find their way and correct their mistakes. Together we can walk more closely with Christ.)

4) Comforting the Sorrowful

5) Forgiving Injuries ( let go of grudges; saying sorry)

6) Bearing Wrongs- Patiently  ( Do not be bitter about wrongs done against you. Place your hope In God so that you can endure the troubles of this world and face them with a compassionate Spirit.

7) Praying for the Living and Dead ( Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we can support others.  Joining together in prayer for the living and dead entrusts us all into God's care. ; Offer Our Mass or prayer intentions up to Our Lord, for someone living or whom has passed away.

CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY
are found in the teachings of Jesus and give us a model for how we should treat all others, as if they were Christ in disguise . The are Charitable actions by which we help our neighbors in their bodily needs.

1) Feed the Hungry

2) Give Drink to the Thirsty

3) Shelter the Homeless

4) Visit the Sick

5) Visit the Prisoners

6) Bury the Dead

7) Give alms to the Poor ( donate clothing, needed material items, money to charities.)

NOTE; Grace is the participation of the Nature through God .
Grace is favour, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his CALL to become children of God, adoptive sons and daughters; partakers of the divine nature and eternal life the means by which God grants His grace are many.
Moved by grace man turns toward God and away from sin, thus accepting work of God's love
made manifest in Christ Jesus and granted by the Holy Spirit.

THE SEVEN GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

1) Wisdom : Is the first and highest gift of the Holy Spirit because it is the perfection of the theological virtue meaning ( faith, hope, charity).

2) Understanding : The teachings of the Church. ... The Holy Spirit guiding the gift ( understanding)
of God into apostolic use.

3) Counsel :  Is supernatural... it perfects the virtue of ... as it were to the heart and in an instant enlightens a person what to do.

4) Fortitude : A Firmness of Spirit as a virtue ...it is a steadiness of will in doing good in spite of difficulties faced in the performance of one's duty.

5) Knowledge : Helps a person to ... the Holy Spirit can set a fire the great gift of knowledge , thereby, we can know the Lord.

6) Piety : A special gift of the Holy Spirit ... it perfects the virtue of religion which is the practice of justice toward God ( The perfection of religion) " the moral virtue by which a person is disposed to render to God the worship and service He deserves.

7) Fear : The last gift of the Holy Spirit.  It is the moral life of Christians .... a reverent fear that moves a person to do God's will.  Fear to stand up for the truths of the faith, because the Holy Spirit will guide us in defending those truths... fear of doing anything in the will of God.

SEVEN DEADLY SINS AND LIVELY VIRTUES , BY BISHOP BARRON (VIDEO'S )

FOR THE HELPLESS UNBORN
Heavenly Father, you create men
in your own image, and you
desire that not even the least
among us should perish.
In your love for us.  You
entrusted your only Son
to the Holy Virgin Mary.
Now, in your love,
protect against the wickedness of the devil,
those little ones to whom
you have given the GIFT OF LIFE. (Pray this Prayer often)

PSALM 95;  A Call to Praise and Obedience

Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord;
let us acclaim the Rock of our salvation
Let us greet him with thanksgiving;
let us joyfully sing psalms to him
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great king above all gods;
In his hands are the depths of the earth,
and the tops of the mountains are his.
His is the sea, for he has made it,
and the dry land, which his hands have formed.
Come, let us bow down in worship;
let us kneel before the Lord who made us.
For he is our God
and we are the people he shepherds, the
flock he guides.
O, that today you would hear his voice;

Harden not your hearts as at Meribah.
as in the day of Massah in the desert.
Where your fathers tempted me;
they tested me though they had seen my
works.
Forty years I loathed that generation,
and I said: They are a people of erring heart.(erring means: go astray, lose one's way, be in error)
and they know not my ways.
Therefore I swore in my anger;
They shall not enter into my rest."

PSALM 96; The Glories of the Lord, the King of the Universe

Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all you lands.
Sing to the Lord; bless his name;
announce his salvation, day after day.
Tell his glory among the nations;
among all peoples, his wondrous deeds.
For great is the Lord and highly to be praised;
awesome is he, beyond all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are things
of nought,
but the Lord made the heavens

Splendor and majesty go before him;
Praise and grandeur are in his sanctuary.
Give to the Lord, you families of nations.
give to the Lord the glory and praise;
give to the Lord the glory due his name!
Bring gifts, and enter his courts;
worship the Lord in holy attire.
Tremble before him, all the earth
say among the nations; The Lord is King.
He has made the world firm, not to be moved;
he governs the peoples with equity.
Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
let the sea and what fills it resound;
let the plains be joyful and all that is in them!
Then shall all the trees of the forest exult
before the Lord, for he comes;
for he comes to rule the world with justice
and the peoples with his constancy.
\
PSALM 97; The Divine King, the just judge of All
The Lord is king; let the earth rejoice;
let the many isles be glad.
Clouds and darkness are round about him,
justice and judgment are the foundation
of  his throne.
Fire goes before him
and comsumes his foes round about.
His lightnings illumine the World;
the earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like was before the Lord.
before the Lord of all the earth.
The heavens proclaim his justice,
and all peoples see his glory.
All who worship graven things are put to shame,
who glory in the things of nought;
all gods are prostrate before him
Zion hears and is glad,
and the cities of Judah rejoice
because of your judgments, O Lord.
Because you, O Lord, are the Most High
over all the earth.
exalted far above all gods.
The Lord loves those that hate evil;
he guards the lives of his faithful ones;
from the hand of the wicked he delivers them.
Light dawns for the just;
and gladness, for the upright of heart.
Be glad in the Lord, you just.
and give thanks to his holy name.
