What does the Bible say about homosexuality?
Scriptures on Same-Sex Relations
The Word of God is evident in its
view of homosexuality. The most
commonly quoted Bible verses are
Leviticus Ch: 18 Verse 22
which state
You shall not lie with a male as with
a woman; such a thing is an
abomination.
note; This pertains also for
a woman lying down with
another woman.

Jude Ch:1 Verse7
Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the
surrounding cities, which likewise
indulged in sexual immorality and
pursued unnatural desire, serve as
an example by undergoing a
punishment of eternal fire.

Romans Ch:1 V-26-28
For this reason God gave them up to
dishonorable passions. For their women
exchanged natural relations for those
that are contrary to nature,
and the men likewise gave up natural
relations with women and were
consumed with passion for one another,
men committing shameless acts with men
and receiving in themselves the due
penalty for their error.
And since they did not see fit to
acknowledge God, God gave them up
to a debased mind to do what ought not
to be done.
Contrary: Opposite in nature, direction, or meaning
Debased meaning: having or showing lowered
moral standards. (degraded, corrupt, sick)

But from the beginning of creation, "God
made them male and female. "Therefore a
man shall leave his father and
mother and hold fast to his wife, and the
two shall become one flesh." So
they are no longer two but one flesh.
What therefore God has joined

those practicing homosexuality, for
slave traders and liars and perjurers--
and for whatever else is contrary
to the sound doctrine
that conforms to the gospel
concerning the glory of the blessed
God, which he entrusted to me.

Though you already know all this,
I want to remind you that the Lord
at one time delivered his people out

judgement on the great Day.
In a similar way, Sodom and

sexual immorality and perversion.
They served as an example of
those who suffer the punishment

strength of their dreams these
ungodly people pollute their own
bodies, reject authority and heap
abuse on celestial beings.

But whoever is united with the
Lord is one with him in spirit.
Flee from sexual immorality. All
other sins a person commits are
outside the body, but whoever sins
sexually, sins against their own
body.
Do you not know that your bodies

in you, whom you have received from God?
You are not your own;
you were bought at a price.
Therefore, honor God with
your bodies.

Romans Ch:1 V18-32
The wrath of God is being
revealed from heaven against all
the godlessness and wickedness
of people, who suppress the truth
by their wickedness,
Since what may be known about
God is plain to them, because God
has made it plain to them.
For since the creation of the
world God's invisible qualities---his
eternal power and divine nature----
Therefore
have been clearly seen, being
understood from what has been
made, so that people are without
excuse.
For although they knew God,
they neither glorified him as God
nor gave thanks to him, but their
thinking became futile and their
foolish hearts were darkened.
Although they claimed to be
wise, they became fools
and exchanged the glory of the
immortal God for images made to
look like a mortal human being
and birds and animals and reptiles.
Therefore God gave them over in
the sinful desires of their hearts to
sexual impurity for the degrading of
their bodies with one another.
They exchanged the truth about
God for a lie, and worshiped and
served created things rather than
the Creator---who is forever praised.
Amen

Scripture about God's Mercy
Psalm Ch:25 V10
"All the paths of the Lord
are mercy and truth
toward those who honor
his covenant and decrees."
Proverbs Ch:28 V13--"No
one who conceals transgressions
will prosper, but one who confesses
and forsakes them will obtain mercy."
Transgression: The violation of a
law or known principle of rectitude;
breach of command;
offense, crime; sin
Rectitude: morally correct behavior
or thinking; righteousness.
Righteousness: God's approval or
being considered right in his eyes.
{When God sees you he approves
of you because you are a bearer of his
righteousness. You are justified in his
sight.

Romans Ch:6 V 14
For sin shall no longer be your
master, because you are not
under the law, but under grace.

What is Mercy? It's an act of withholding
deserved punishment, while grace is the
act of endowing unmerited meaning:
(not deserved) favor.
In His mercy, God does not give
us punishment we deserve,
namely hell; while in grace,
God gives us the gift we do not deserve,
namely heaven. Mercy and grace are
the utmost attributes of love.
