Farewell To the Brave! Abraham Lincoln was born Feb. 12, 1809 ; both Pres. Lincoln and Martin Luther King were assassinated in the month of April

Farewell to the Brave !

I looked at the faces of my soldiers
so eager to win this battle!
they wrote in their journals
of their messages and
maybe good-byes to their
loved ones.
I looked at the faces of the brave
who were ready to fight the
good fight for a greater cause!
They were restless in the night
for they love their brother's
at hand. I remember the one's
laughing and I notice the
one's who were quiet.  .
Oh' My heart was heavy
for these young men facing
battle !
That night I was in prayer+
The day of battle they
arise with the sound of
the drummer boy's
ready to take their places!
The memories of meeting
their brother's
 with each story
told!
Together they held their
heads up high ever so
strong!
They followed the beat
of the drums and faced
their enemies ahead!
Together they listened
to the commands and
the battle began!
Many of my soldiers
lives were taken! I
sadly could see
their bodies
lifeless on the ground!
Blood of the Young!
Blood of the Brave!
Blood of the Black
and White Soldiers!
They were more than
soldiers for they were
brothers!
Fighting for Freedom!
Freedom for Slavery
to end!
We won Victory on
Gettysburg battleground!
My Union defended
and conquered the
confederates!
My Soldiers will forever
be remembered!
Their Heroic acts of
selflessness will never
be forgotten!
The drummer boy's
played their Victory
song for the proud !
 Our Freedom Rings
 for All People across
America !
Good work my men
of courage and
farewell to the brave !
