The gift of light
wax dropping like someone's tears
falling down their cheeks,
they glow like a star in the dark
sky, flaming when needed but,
melting away before saying your
goodbye.
You watch the last flame go out,
wishing you could say hello again,
knowing there won't be another
burning candle like that one
ever again.
