I wanted to tell you a short story that happened almost
ten years ago. My daughter-in-law, suddenly lost
her father from an illness. I wanted to get her family
a nice present for their sorrow and in honor of her dad.
The next morning following the sad news, I sent Rachel
and Isaac on the bus and got myself ready.
I knew I wouldn't have time to order a gift on-line for
her beloved father's service. I decided to drive to the nearest city
that had a mall. It was a forty-minute drive and I was hoping I
could find the right gift. I needed four presents, one for my
daughter-in-law, her two identical brothers, and mom.
It was a cold February day, and I had no idea what
kind of Christian or inspirational gift I would find!
I was hoping to find a Cross or an angel.
I searched every store and didn't find
any Christian item at all. I was so sad and disappointed!
But it was most saddening for Our Lord Jesus. He was no
where to be found.
I decided to go to a nearby store that happened to be
one of my favorites!
When I walked into the store I was quickly reminded
it was close to Valentines! I found these pretty wall hangings
made of wood. The wood was entered twined and shaped like a
heart with a red ribbon. They only had four left and I
quickly bought them! I was so happy to have found them
and began driving back home.
I was getting closer to my road and I still wasn't satisfied.
I wanted to find Crosses somewhere!
I drove on past my road and headed to my own local town.
I knew the only place would be Walmart and I was a little
doubtful! I walked to the area that sold home decorations.
I couldn't believe what I found! There was Crosses!
Beautiful heavy dark metal crosses that stood on a pedestal!
I counted the amount and There were only four
left sitting on a shelf waiting for me!
I bought them and headed home!
I thanked the Lord that day!
It's as if he kept pressing me forward!
After I had found everything that day, a scripture of
Jesus came to mind "Seek and you shall find,
knock and the door will be open."
This story always makes me smile and reminds
me to never give up and always let God be your
guide🕇
