Pleading for Help (Romeo Dallaire, He did all that he could)

General Romeo Dallaire warned his superiors.

of the Hutus plan to exterminate the Tutsis.

In January of 1994 he repeatedly requested

a stronger mandate and more troops, but these

request was denied.

In April 1994, after the killings began General

Dallaire again pleaded for more support from

the UN but was rejected. Infact, the UN Security

Council voted to reduce the UN Peacekeeper

force in the Rwanda country from 2,500

to 270 soldiers with no support, weakening

the peacekeeping in becoming severely

handicapped.  So, the genocide spread quickly

throughout Rwanda's villages, cities, and

rural lands.

The officials across the world including

America {Pres. Clinton was in office} knew of the

genocide taking place and turned a

blind eye.

They were presented with footage of

the killings and simply ignored the fact

it was a genocide taking place.

Only a few International Humanitarian Aid

organizations stayed on the ground including

the Red Cross and

took on heroic efforts to provide medical care.

All those who were left behind to do their

duties and service to the Rwanda people

were heroes.

The genocide was the one thing Romeo Dallaire was trying

to prevent back in Jan. 1994 and none of the Officials listened.

He kept asking for help but was rejected.

Note: The signs I was able to see by the grace of God began in

Jan. Feb. Mar. and April of 1994, of an unseen horrific event

I knew nothing about.
