On January 8, 2026, I had written in my journal:
A few days ago, I was working at my part-time laundry
job at a nursing home. I was doing my dirty laundry
pick-up. There is an elderly resident who always
sits near the nurse's station in his wheelchair.
He had been sitting there for several hours and
two nurses went to take him to the restroom where
I was doing my pickup.
I believe the elderly man couldn't quite make it
to the toilet and some urine went on the floor.
One of the nurses was speaking to him in
an unkind tone in making him feel bad.
The nurse's behavior agitated the poor man
causing him to yell back at them.
I walked away feeling sad for the resident
who is a beautiful person of Our Lord.
He rarely makes a sound and he patiently
waits in his wheelchair. He often drifts into
sleep with nowhere to rest his head.
On January 10, 2026, Our Lord gave me a dream.
I was at the nursing home I am employed at.
I was looking inside the residents large shower room
and standing inside the doorway. There was a nurse
helping an elderly person with his or her shower.
I remember looking at them and they looked over at me.
The tile floor was all wet because of the shower.
Suddenly, a large cross formed on the wet floor!
It was large and wide and extremely bright!
Only one cross formed and dream ended. 🕇
This dream reminded me of the story I wrote
called "Would You Recognize Me?"
This dream was short but had great meaning.
God sees our works and how we respond with
one another. When we touch another person
or listen and hear them speak, we are responding to
God. It's our lord sitting in the shower and being
taken care of. It's Christ sitting patiently in the
wheelchair needing compassion and care.
God Blesses us every time we do his work wither
it is pleasant or not.
When times get difficult or stressed we must
take a pulse and ask for help! It will allow the heavy load to
be lifted and help keep us focused!
We are to help give those in need their dignity
honor and respect.
"The Cross and Wet Floor" also pertains to
many other needs as well. Those working in
daycare centers, hospitals, Dr. Offices,
private homecare,
babysitting, potty training, working with
the handicapped and mentally challenged.
Anything that involves taking care of others
who have difficulties and their needs. It's not
only how we do our job or task but more
importantly how we respond.
🕇Our response belongs to God🕇
Remember always, God fell three times during
his sorrow of carrying his cross to Calvary.
Simon of Cyrene helped Jesus carry his wooden
cross. May we remind ourselves to allow God to
help us carry our own cross each and every time.
He will always respond🕇
