Peter's Canticle meaning of canticle: song specifically: one of several liturgical
songs (such as The Magnificat) taken from the Bible.
The Magnificat Prayer of Mary is in (Luke Ch.1 V46-55)
Blessed Mary was the first
evangelist by answering God with her "Yes" and believing and trusting
in his will be done according to his word.
May we be reminded of her wisdom and strength in God
and constantly being in dialogue with him.
She was walking the path of the unknown but her complete' Trust in God'
is what kept her focused on Him at all times even in fear and difficulty.
She kept a stronghold of her Son and His Word! She gave
glory and praise to Jesus Christ our Lord all of her days.
The Magnificat of Blessed Mary:
My soul proclaims the greatness of the
Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly
servant.
From this day all generations will call me
blessed:
the Almighty had done great things for
me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their
thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant
Israel
for he remembered his promise of
mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.
