Already Sent
There was a time in my early writings, and it was Christmas
time! I was eager to be able to tell my family and friends about
what God had revealed to me. I love sending out Christmas cards
and I decided to insert a letter of "My Story" about the given signs
I had received. I know I had sent out at least fifty to sixty cards that
year. I was with a close relative of mine out shopping with my children
and before she left to go home, I gave her the letter I placed in all
my cards. After she read my written letter, she immediately made me
feel bad about sharing "My Story." She told me to not send these out!
In my confusion I told her I had already sent them out! I told her I will
try to call the post office to try and stop them from being mailed.
My close relative drove on home and I went straight in my home and
called my post office. The post office said they have already been sent out.
I took my kitchen phone off the hook and cried! I felt as if I had done
something wrong and I didn't want to speak to anyone. A few hours later
I placed my phone back onto the receiver and the phone rings. It was
my relative telling me she had been trying to reach me. She told me
she shared my letter to her husband, and he didn't see anything wrong with
it. I told her I apricated her calling me. I then felt more at ease and less
afraid. Needless, to say I received many Christmas cards that year with
uplifting messages about my inserted letter "My Story."
When we want to share our story, it takes a lot of courage.
We have to remind ourselves not everyone is going to be open
to what we have to say and that's o-k. But people's feelings don't
erase your story! The story still remains. But in order to tell your story
you can't have others to influence you in any way. If you allow that to take
place your story can get messed up and distorted.
